Corps General of the Carabinieri Arnaldo GRILLI was an officer who held prominent roles, rising to the position of Deputy Commander General of the Carabinieri Corps.
A graduate in sociology and strategic sciences, he served as Deputy Director of SISDe (Service for Information and Democratic Security) and as a member of the Italian Committee for the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
He was a lecturer at the Carabinieri Officers' School in the comparative analysis of political and terrorist violence and in European police forces within the framework of the European Community institutions.
An author of essays on crime and terrorism, he was a member of the Human Rights Commission of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
He was appointed Grand Officer of the Italian Republic and received the Silver Cross for Army Merit.
He held the office of President of the National Register of Intelligence Analysts from its founding until 3 November 2018, the date of his passing.
