General Santini new Secretary of the Military Order of Italy

We are pleased to inform you that General Adriano Santini, President of our Register, has recently been elected Secretary of the Military Order of Italy.

The Military Order of Italy is an institution of the Italian Republic intended to reward «the distinguished actions performed in war by units of the national armed forces (...) or by individual servicemen belonging to them, who have given sure proof of skill, sense of responsibility and valour».

The current head of the Order, since 31 January 2015, is the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella; the chancellor and treasurer is the Minister of Defence. The Order has a council composed of a president and five members. The President and the members of the council are appointed from among decorated officers of the Order.
